You're my cup of tea, Mom!

I'm so glad I got to play for a few minutes tonight!  I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems since there will be a new one tomorrow, and did the House Mouse challenge to make a card for Mom.  I think House Mousies are growing on my Mom, so this one is for her. :)  Just ignore the spot where my teacup got on the pink... it's late! :)  I used prismas and oms and stardust stickles.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Pearls

My card tonight is just for fun.  Clear Dollar Stamps is having a guest designer call, and they have *such* lovely Scripture stamps and cute moose stamps and so much more that I couldn't resist trying my hand at the challenge.  Which was to use pearls... pearls!!  Definitely a challenge for me.  Those things are tricky!! :)  I watercolored the tulips from an older SU set called Hello Spring and punched them out, then layered them on a scalloped punch edged with *pearls*.  The background is stamped with a plaid background stamp by CC Designs, then overstamped with a swirl in white ink.  Oh, and I added more *pearls*. :)  They're actually kind of fun, once you get started!! :)

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out the guest designer call for yourself!

The Givin' Dragon

Here's Gavin' the Givin' Dragon from High Hopes - all fancied up with today's color challenge colors... Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun and Olive.  Appropriate colors when you're a dragon!  LOL!

The High Hopes challenge was to use sponging on your creation, so I pulled out my old cloud and grass stencil that I used to use with Button Bear and went to town.  It's so fun to pull out something older and make it look new again!!  Gavin is colored with copics, and the sentiment is another "old made new" find... a 1998 stamp from Stampin Up. :)

How about you?  Can you find some older things in your stash and update them with a fresh new look?  I'd love to see what you made if you do!!

Blessings!

Viva La Verve - Week 4

Aren't these pretty colors?  Rose, Mustard and Olive... I love them!  They're actually the color challenge from last week on SCS.  I used them with the Verve sketch challenge to make this card with the Meditations set from Verve.  We were supposed to use some acetate on our card and that is *really* out of my box, but I did it.  Where????  I punched out a little flower, then backed it with dp and put a brad through it to hold my ribbon bow.  Don't believe me?  Here's the close up.

See!! :)  (Double click if you need further proof.... )

Thanks for reading!

Hello Friend

I colored this sweet Tilda with Tag a few days ago, and then set her aside when my company came.  So today I pulled her out and paired her with some spring-y paper and now she's perfect for the Cute Card Thursday challenge. :)  I actually made her for another challenge, too.  I got all done and realized I hadn't used the right stamps for it.  AAAArrrrGGGGGhhhh!!!

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Blessings,

A New Toy!

Have I ever mentioned that I have a wonderful husband?  For Valentine's Day this year he surprised me with a little bit of *play* money that I could use for whatever I liked.  He laughed at me, because it took me *so* long to decide, but I finally settled on this sweet little Violet Cupcake stamp from Ellen Hutson's store and a couple of Copics that I didn't have yet.  When the stamp came, Ellen had included a bit of purple ribbon as well.  Wow!  Great customer service.  I was so impressed.  It was like Christmas!! :)  My card isn't fancy - I only had a few minutes here and there, cuz I've had company all weekend.  My stamping seems to be leaning that way lately, but that's ok.  I need to remember that it's the love that goes into the card that makes it special.  Not necessarily how many layers it has.  I really should be *sending* these after all!!!! :)  So here's my first Violet Cupcake card.  One of many, I hope.  I just love this little stamp!

Before I forget... Here's some blog candy you don't want to miss.  Check it out and sign up for yourself!

Blessings!

Ice Cream Anyone??

The challenge over in the Gina K forum on SCS is to "Get Inky".  To ink up a stamp that you hadn't used yet.  This ice cream sundae stamp is one that came in Gina K's How Sweet it Is stampset that I bought over a year ago, and I don't think I ever used it!

I watercolored the main image, then cut it out and mounted it on some dp layered on white cs.  The dp is Mimi by TAC, I think.  I love the colors! :)

I decided to go super simple with this card.  No ribbon, no embellishments.  Just lots of love.

Thanks for stopping!

High Hopes Mojo

I combined the High Hopes "Spring" challenge with the adorable Mojo Monday sketch for this week and came up with this card.  I used up some of an older Debbie Mumm mat stack and got my "Blessings" stamp inky from my new Verve Hello Pumpkin set.  I thought it was appropriate since I'm always saying it! {smiles} Oh - and there's a great sale on a Verve right now.  Check it out!

Going Green

The theme over at Tilda and Friends this week is "Shady Lady" - to make a monochromatic ATC.  I chose my Paris Tilda to color and since she ended up looking sort of St. Patrick-ish I used the Irish Blessing Script background stamp behind her.  I colored her with Copics and used papers and brads from my SCS FlyBaby Winter Kit.

I thought I'd try to use this week's Mojo Monday sketch, but, alas, my little Tilda had a mind of her own and I ended up with an entirely different layout.  I pulled out some punches and embellishments that hadn't seen much use lately either! :)

Thanks for stopping by and for all of your lovely comments.  You make my day!

Another Quick Birthday Card

Yes, *more* dragons!! :)  Isn't he precious!!  This is a quick birthday card for my father-in-law, using ingredients from my SCS FlyBaby Winter Kit.  The polka dot background is a *must have* from CC Designs.  I love mine!!  I colored the party dragon with Prismas and OMS and added lots of sparkles that don't seem to show in my photo today.

Thanks for stopping by!!

More Dragons

Here's my son's valentine from yesterday.  Have I *mentioned* how much I love these dragons from High Hopes?????? {smiles}  I colored the Flying Ace with Copics and stamped the sentiment with one of the first stamps I ever purchased.  I still love it!!  Not much else to the card.  I didn't want to get too fancy or mushy, you know!!  A teen boy can only stand so much of that from Mom. :)  However, I must tell you that he did buy me a Valentine's present the other night at Starbucks.  I admired a cool mug... and he bought it for me.  Say it together now... AWWWWWWWW!!!!   I can tell you this.  I will treasure that ceramic mug more than a diamond necklace!

Blessings!

Hello Pumpkin!

Let's see... Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, Fall!!! :)

Yes, I realize that I'm a little out of season, but I just got this adorable set from Verve for winning the Mojo Monday contest, and I *had* to use him!!  Especially because the Viva La Verve challenge this week needed to be monochromatic and my favorite colors are fall-ish.  I also played along with the Limited Supply challenge to "stretch yourself".  Use something that you usually wouldn't.  I actually have quite a few things...  I tore the image instead of using my wonderful Nesties - I watercolored instead of using my wonderful copics - I made my own background paper for the back piece - *and* I distressed the edge of the back piece with my scissors.  There - are you proud of me??  LOL!! Thanks for stopping by.  You make my day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day!!
Here are the cards I made for my girls to go along with their candy.  Speaking of candy, do you know what tomorrow is??? The first day the Cadbury Mini eggs will be out!!!!
Yippee!!

"Herein is love - not that we loved Him (God),
but that *He* loved us and gave His Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

I hope you know *that kind* of love today!!

Blessings!

Feeling Low??

This silly little snowman makes me laugh.  He's the last of my snowman card kits that I got from SCS.  They were so much fun that I'd love to do it again.  Only I'm a little afraid to try cuz I found out that I'm a tad more allergic to cats then I thought.  I had a few breathless moments and itchy eyes and throat working on these kits!! LOL!

Now... if you've read this far I consider you a dear friend, so... *guess what?????*  This card was chosen as a winner on Mojo Monday and I get to choose some free stamps from Verve!   God is so good!!  I love the verses that Verve sells and now I'll be getting some of my very own!! {{smiles}}

Painted Pansies

Well, guess what!  You *can* color House Mouse images with Copics!! :)  The PaperTrey challenge for the day was to make a card for a friend.  A "for no special reason" card... just to say "hello".  I used the CPS sketch for the week and pulled out this little fella to help me pass on my wishes.  BUT... House Mouse stamps are pretty big, so this card is going to be more of a present!! :)

Thanks for stopping by again!  I think I'm done for the night. LOL! :)

Love at First Bite -- ummm, Sight!

OK, seriously, isn't he just the cutest thing you've ever seen???  I've been in love with him since High Hopes came out with their dragons a few months ago.  I think his name is "Albert"...

I found some older SU dp and chose my Prismacolors to match.  I added some stitching and then sponged just a tad so the stitching would stand out a little, but then it almost got too dark, so I added a shadow around Albert to liven him up. {smiles}  He's just *so* sweet!!!!!  I used the sketch over at the High Hopes blog, which is also a Guest Designer call.  Oh, wouldn't that be over the moon fabulous????  Too fun!!

BTW, the card is for my husband.  He's kind of gruff outside like the dragon, but he's just a big teddy bear... kind of like Albert.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Today's Fun...

Papertrey had a sketch challenge today that I used as the inspiration for this card.  Nothing fancy, just a colored and sponged image cut with my nesties, a few brads, a flower and a little saying from PaperTrey's Mixed Messages.  I still love my Tildas!!

Papertrey Color Challenge

Today's challenge in the PaperTrey Countdown is to make a card with the colors Poppy, Avocado, Sunrise and Ocean Tides.  I didn't have the exact colors, but I used some colors that were close to make this quick birthday card for my nephew.   The little stars are from PaperTrey's Holiday Treats set (which I'm *so* glad I got.  It's perfect for so many things!) and the sentiment is a Studio G stamp.  I wrapped a little scrapper's floss around the image to make it look more like a birthday present.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bright!!

OK - this is bright.  The color challenge was to use bright colors - turquoise, pink passion, gable green, lilac.  And Kimmie's challenge was to use an animal and ribbon.  So there you have it.  It's cuter in real life, my pictures haven't been great today.  What I wouldn't give for some good photoediting software!! :)

Blessings!

CPS101 and Pink Buttons

Kimmie's 3rd birthday challenge was to use Pink and a Button on a card.  I chose this absolutely adorable Tilda image to color and used the sweet sketch from Card Positioning Systems.  Have you used their sketches at all?  They always give such great inspiration!!!  Especially for me, cuz I am horrible at making decisions if I have too many choices.  I love following a sketch or color challenge, because it's one less thing I have to decide! :)

The little message on Tilda's tag is from PTI, Tilda is colored with Copics and the BG paper is from an older K&Co Mat Stack that I just love.  I'll be sad when it is all gone!!

I attached the ribbon onto the back of the card with tape.  It seemed easier than trying to make it do the criss cross thing than wrapping it around.  I added little highlights to Tilda's eyes and clothes and hair with my white gel pen.  I don't really know what I'm doing, but I've found the best way to improve your stamping is to watch what one of the "pros" do and copy them.  So I've copied, and I like it and now I can be a pro, too!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by.  I have about 4 posts up today, so be sure not to miss any of them!

Blog Candy Bag

Nichole Heady of PaperTrey issued a "bag challenge" today, and since I had *need* of a bag to put my blog candy goodies in, I decided to join the fun.

I wanted the bag to match the card I'd made a few days ago (see the picture below!), so I pulled out my Brocade designer paper and cut a piece that would just fit in the front of one of PaperTrey's clear rolltop bags as a liner.  I stamped one of the labels from the Holiday Treats set in Olive onto another piece of dp and stamped my sentiment over the top.  I *really* wanted to staple the label onto the bag, but my stapler just wouldn't work that way! LOL  Instead I stapled the paper by itself, then used glue dots to attach it to the bag.

Thanks for stopping by!!

You are now the proud owner of 100 or more little images to start (or increase) your very own image-a-holics stash.  If I'm a very good girl, perhaps I can win or beg more images to take their place in my now depleted stash. (Snort!!)  BTW, I've made 2 cards from my stash images.  I only have 456 to go!!!

Thanks for playing.  Watch for another giveaway soon! :)

Be Mine

Kraftin' Kimmie is celebrating her birthday with some challenges, so I decided to combine her sketch with the House Mouse Challenge Blog theme of "Valentine".  I used up old dp, colored with prismas and oms and cut a little tag with my Cuttlebug.  I love those little tags!!  The PTI Mixed Messages fit in them just perfectly!!

Thanks so much for all the comments letting me know that you stopped by.  I do read every one and they make my day!! :)

His Strength

The Mojo Monday sketch for this week just called for me to pull out the pansies again.  They are such beautiful flowers and look so peaceful surrounding this encouraging verse from Philippians.  The card is fairly self explanatory.  Lots of cutting and dimensionals!!  Besides the Spring Pansy set, I used another old favorite on the River Rock layer - my Script background stamp, and I tucked my ribbon into my brad to "update" its look.

Thank you always for stopping by my blog.  You honor me with your presence. :)  Don't forget to scroll down if you haven't entered my blog candy yet!

Image-a-Holics Anonymous Blog Candy

Is there such a thing as image-a-holics??  If so I definitely qualify!  I had the urge tonight to look through my box of stamped images that I've collected through Wish RAK and other online friends, and I'm *mortified*!!!  Let's take inventory...

I have:

My Favorite Things: 1
Hanglar Stanglar: 9
High Hopes: 50
Riley: 29
House Mouse & Friends:  61
Sugar Nellie: 3
Penny Black: 34
Magnolia: 181
Fluffles: 28
Verve verses: 30
Elzybells: 20
Stampendous: 12

Total:  458 images

This doesn't include the pile of about 100 images that I have set aside to give away, or the hundred others that I've already gifted here and there!  But here's the real problem.  There are new images every month that I'd like to add to my stash.  Can you imagine??

So, help me out.  If you'd like an assortment of images to play with, leave a comment on this post.   If you'd like to let others know, feel free, but it's not a requirement!  The images will be stamped in various inks, on various papers and be from an assortment of companies including Hanglar Stanglar, Verve, High Hopes, Stampin Up, Magnolia, Elzybells, Sugar Nellie and more.  Some of them are stamped beautifully and some aren't.  Some you'll love and some you won't like at all.  Oh, and I'll also throw in an extra surprise for the winner.  I don't know what yet, but I'm sure it will be fun.

I'll leave this open until Thursday noon, so I can still get the images out to the winner by the weekend.  Good Luck!! :)

As for me... I'm off to make 458 cards.  Just kidding!!!! :)

Baby Shower Gift

No stamping this time.  Just a baby shower gift that I got finished this week.  I love these little lined bags.  I had one for each of my children to carry their "quiet things" to church, or their toys and "blankies" and diapers to Grandma's house, or whatever they needed them for.  They quite wore them out!!

So what do you think?  Do you think my friend will like it??  (Hope she won't read my blog! LOL!!)
