Just for You - High Hopes Style

The challenge this week on the High Hopes Challenge blog is to use metal on your card. I only have a few High Hopes images, so I pulled out this adorable elephant, colored him for Christmas with my Prismacolors and OMS and used some metal embellishments so I could play along. Isn't he sweet?? He reminds me of the little elephant Webkinz that I got for 1/2 price on Black Friday. The only other thing I got that day was ordered from Hancock Fabric and my daughter and I went in on it together. Can you guess what it was?? A Janome Sew Mini! :) I'm so excited! I can use it for my cards and my dd will use it for home ec. Can't wait til it shows up!

I hope I'll be able to do a LOT of crafting this week. One of my projects is to complete a Christmas quilt that I've had all the fabric for since last year... another is to complete a cross-stitched Christmas stocking that I'm making for a friend. We'll see if I get any stamping done or not! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, the table is set, the turkey is about done, the potatoes are ready to boil... just waiting for my Mom and Dad to get here and I can make the Snickers Salad and we can eat! :)  Since I had a few minutes I used my PTI Quilt Sampler set and a couple of alphabet sets to make some placecards.  Too fun!!

I hope you have a lovely day being thankful.  Don't eat too much!! :)

Blessings!

Magnolia Birthday Present

This card started as a Christmas Card and ended as a birthday card... but that's ok since I have a sister whose birthday is the day after Christmas.  :)  I pulled out some Bo-Bunny Press DP from last year and colored a Magnolia Designs present to match.  There were actually three presents on the piece of cardstock (I'd gotten the images from a friend!) hence the wonky way of cutting! :)  I used my Studio G Birthday Wishes stamp for the sentiment.  I *love* that writing!  And I added a prima, a ribbon, some paper piercing and some stickles just for fun.  Wish I could show you the real thing.  It looks so pretty in real life!

Hope you and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving remembering how God has blessed you over the past year.  Let's give Him the glory!!

Blessings!

Needed: One CuttleBug

My, oh my!!  Look what my Secret Magnolia Angel sent to me!!!  Brads and fibers and scissors and paper and flowers and NESTIES!!!!!  I don't have any, and hadn't bought a CuttleBug or related tool since I knew I'd want some of the Nesties and I didn't have $$ for both.  But now I have nesties, so I can get a Bug with a clear conscience!! :)  Anyone have one you're getting rid of, or know where I can get a good deal?  I have a Michaels coupon for this weekend.  I wonder if they have them in stock????

Yippee!!!  Thank you, secret Angel!!

Thank Ewe

I pulled out a Gruffies image to color today.  I was aiming for the House Mouse Challenge, but I couldn't find any polka dots.  Go figure.  I colored the image with prismacolors and broke into my pack of Basic Grey Wassail dp for the mat and background.  The rick-rack was some that was in a box of my Grandma's.  I sparkled it up with stickles and cut the sentiment with a little zig-zag scissors to match.  The full card is below...

Watch out for the Needle!

I noticed a quilting challenge over on the PTI forum, and, as a quilter, I decided that I couldn't pass it up.  We had to use a table runner as our "inspiration".  I loved the table runner!!  I think I might make one... in my free time.  LOL!!  I tried to get the table runner feel, but used very different colors.  Oh - and can you spot the needle??

Distressed Baby

Gina K's So Sweet set came out the other week to make a card for the monthly sketch challenge.  I made the card, uploaded it, then decided that I didn't like it and redid it!! :)  Silly me!  The storks are stamped in Palette Burnt Umber on Basic Grey DP.  I sponged around the storks on the bottom panel and colored in the storks on the top panel with prismacolors and OMS.

I don't know how much time I'll have to craft this weekend.  We have company coming and I've spent the day decorating for Christmas, which we'll celebrate with our friends tomorrow night - then switch gears when they leave on Sunday and get ready for Thanksgiving.  I love this time of year!! :)

Can you believe this??

Debbie at Passion for Crafts is giving away Copics (and *more*!) as blog candy. How generous! Wouldn't *that* be a nice Christmas present??? Maybe I'll have my daughter type the comment on her blog. That girl wins everything!!

Look! Edith just gave me an award! Thank you!! :)

I never know who to pass them on to...  I have about 75 blogs in my Google Reader and enjoy browsing them all. :)

Thanks again!! :)

Quilted Wishes

Here's a card I made with my new PaperTrey set - Quilter's Sampler. I love the Sweet Blush color, it's so soft and inviting. I colored the little quilt blocks with SU markers and all the faux stitching is with marker, too. I added a half pearl that I got in a goody box earlier this year and sponged the whole card with Linen Distress Ink. The sentiment is TAC.

Magnolia Mingle

I haven't participated in any of the challenges on Splitcoast Stampers for a long time, so I decided to use this week's sketch for my Magnolia Mingle card for this month. I think it was supposed to look fall-ish, since it needed red, green, brown and yellow, but I just got this adorable Tilda with braid and my card decided that it wanted to look Christmas-y! :)

Tilda is colored with Prismas and OMS and the other stamps are Studio G and Stampin Up.

Wishing You Joy!!

Tilda with Sticks

I love this sweet little Tilda image that one of my blogging buddies sent me.  I colored her with SU markers since I don't own Copics...yet. :)  And I used a piece of shimmery KI paper, my Threading Water scalloped punch and some Burgundy Brads from TAC as accents.   I got to order a new Tilda from the Holiday collection today.  She should be coming soon...
I'm so excited!! :)

High Hopes Sugar

Two posts in one day!  But, isn't he just precious???  I couldn't wait.  :)  I made this card for the High Hopes Challenge - sparkles... see the flowers and his horns??  And then for the A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge to make a card for a child.  I actually put it in the mail today to Michelle's nephew who just had surgery.  Hop on over to her blog and email her if you'd like to help make his day. :)

I colored the High Hopes giraffe with my SU markers, and the sentiment is from a clear Studio G set.  Thanks for stopping by!! :)

Blog Candy at Pretty Pressings

Such fun blog candy over at Claudia's.  Be sure that you take time to look through her gorgeous artwork!!

Wings of Eagles

I got this gorgeous eagle image from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps as a RAK from my fellow blogging friend, Dina.  Isn't it stunning?  The background is Isaiah 40:31 - one of my favorite Bible verses.  The eagle is colored with my SU markers and a white gel pen and the paper is Basic Grey Sweet Pea (thanks, Debbie!).

Swirling Snowflakes

I pulled out my retired SU Snowflake set for this pot.  I love that set and use it every year.  I used a white gel pen and white chalk to give the "aura" around the snowflake - which I stamped in Navy on Blue Bayou cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment first in white, then in Navy to give it the shadowed effect.  It's supposed to snow here later this week.  I really don't mind.  The first snow is always so pretty.... it's the 101st snow that really gets old!! LOL!

Many Thanks

I finally had a chance to do a little stamping, and I think I'll have enough "blog fodder" to post each day this week!  Yippee!!  I miss talking to you all. :)

If you've read the blog long, you know that mass producing is *not* my thing, but I really, really wanted to include something handstamped in my GraceWorks orders, (see our website or our blog!) so I placed an order with PaperTrey for their sweet Quilter's Sampler set and some pretty paper and ribbon.  I colored the little quilt blocks with my SU markers, punched them out with the 3/4" square punch and matted them on PTI's Sweet Blush that I had punched with the yellow Scalloped square punch.  I mounted them on Kraft cardstock, stamped the "Thank You" from an older TAC set that I had and tied the card with a ribbon.  Inside there is a raspberry tea bag attached with glue dots.  Unfortunately I ran out of ribbon before I had them all done, so I made some Tea Tags as well.  If you're in the market for a daily planner for next year, be sure to check us out!  I'll be including a thank you with each order! :)

Blessings!

Amy has blog candy!  Little dragons from High Hopes.  They're adorable!  Check it out here.  Hopefully I'll have a little something to show you later today if I get my house cleaned up and can stamp for awhile! :)

November Birthday

I have lots and lots of November birthdays to get ready for, so I decided to make this adorable Tilda with Broom image into a birthday card using one of the sentiments from PaperTrey's Mixed Messages set.  This card did NOT want to come together.  That's what happens when I don't stamp everyday.  :)   I do like the end result, though!

Have a splendid Monday, serving the Lord!

Blessings!
