Elzybell Penguin

I found this fun sketch on the Elzybells UK blog that looked just perfect for my little Elzybells penguin image.  Isn't he sweet?  I wish you could see the colors in real life... they got a little yellow in the photo.  All of the supplies for the card (besides the image and white cardstock) are from my SCS Winter Kit... dp, snowflake stamp, navy cs, cool fibers and even the word.  I stamped the white mat with the snowflake while it was still in my nestabilities die, which gave it that cool edge... :)

Thanks for stopping by!

My word for the year...

Goals and resolutions are on everyone's mind right now as we start the new year. Last year, following the lead of some of my stamping blogging buddies, I chose a "defining word" to focus on for the year... SATISFIED. If you care to read how it impacted my life, as well as how I chose this year's word, you can see the post on my GraceWorks blog here. It was an overwhelming year to say the least!!

My word for this year will be PEACE. Peace with God through His Son, peace in my home, peace knowing that He is in control.

I'll be back tomorrow with more cards. Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,

Tricia

Winter Craft Kit Fun

I'm having so much fun playing with my new Winter Craft Kit from my FlyBaby User Group on SCS! I'm getting to use my new Christmas toys... copics, nestabilities, cropadile, stickles, PTI Mixed Messages, CuttleBug Tags.... {smiles} Here's a couple of cards for today. They are both using images that Tammi sent me, bless her heart!!!!

The first card uses a Penny Black images that I colored with my copics. The dp, snowflake and brads are from the kit. I used my nestabilities (classic rectangle) to mat it, and used chalks to give it that "airbrushed" look. The little tag is a cuttlebug Tiny Tag that I attached with mini brads. And, of course, I used lots of StarDust stickles for the snow!!

The second card is quick and easy. The little penguin is a Whipper Snapper image, colored in copics again! :) The gorgeous flower came on a Christmas card I received. I... ummm... repurposed it. :)

I made two more cards last night, too... but I think I'll save them for tomorrow. See you then!!

Magnolia ClipBoard

I'm trying something new this year. I purchased a Winter Kit from our SCS FlyBaby group and I'm going to try to use it up. Scrapbook pages, cards, altered items... We'll see what I come up with. I'll be truthful, it won't be easy!! Some of the things that came in the kit are *really* out of my comfort zone!!!

For my first project I decided to alter this clipboard that I've had sitting around for awhile. I wanted to use one of the Magnolia images that I had in my box, but the paper, ribbon and snowflakes are from the kit. I colored my Tilda with Copics, then used ModPodge and a small foam brush to attach the elements to the clipboard. My girls kept telling me that it would be too bumpy to write on now... and they're right... but it sure is cute!! :) I think I'll find a legal pad or junior legal pad that I can alter and use that on the board - or maybe make it into a magnet board... I haven't decided yet. :) Maybe I'll make a "flat" clipboard with my Spring Kit!! :)

I hope you had a lovely Christmas. I have so many new stamping goodies to play with and *such* a long list of things to do during my week off, that I'll be busy for awhile!!

Here's the completed clipboard...

BTW - Remember to check out the GraceWorks site if you need any refills for your dayplanner for the new year!!

Guest Designer

OK, how cute is this???  My DD made this card for a friend, using a picture that she cut out of last years page a day calendar, some mustard cs, my new PaperTrey Holiday Treats Set and the small rectangle nestabilities.  Isn't it just precious????? :)

I hope you will have a blessed Christmas.  I have some fun kits coming that I'll be working with in the new year.  A winter themed kit from my SCS FlyBaby group and a snowman card kit will be the first to arrive.  What fun!

I may have to set up a schedule for myself for the new year, so I don't neglect the GraceWorks blog.  I'll let you know what I decide.

Merry Christmas if I don't see you for a day or two!! :)

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  -- "And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.  And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

Gift Card Holders

Wow!  3 posts in one day!  I finished up my gift card holders using Mish's idea.  Thanks, Mish!  Now I have to clean up my desk and work on the rest of my list.  Bye!

I Need to Stamp!!

Well, there they all are.  All 20 of them.  Including the thank you notes that I didn't show you.  I *have to* stamp a couple of gift card holders later today.  Maybe like Mish's adorable ones here.  Changed a little, of course, since I don't have all the cute jingle bells and such!! :)

For Baby

Hello again!  How's your Christmas shopping going?  I hope that I'm done... I think I am.  I'm just waiting for my PaperTrey order to get here, so I can use my Holiday Treats set to make some cute tags and I should be all set.

My cards today use the stork from the Gina K How Sweet set again.  I really, really like that set!  I love how the babies' blankets look paper pieced, when all I did was dot them with my Copic Marker. :)  I made a boy and girl card for each set.

Blessings!

Thinking of You...

Lots and lots of Thinking of You cards today. These were so fun to put together. I used the flower from Gina K's So Sweet set and also a tulip trio and saying from a $1 Studio G clear set. Too fun!

Lulu's Birthday

They're done!!! :0)  All 20 cards.  I'll show you a few every day, at least until I can get some more adhesive so I can stamp again.  I ran out!  I thoroughly enjoyed working with this pack of Crate Paper dp.  I made 20 cards and probably have enough left for 8 more, just without as much variety to choose from.  I had my favorite patterns and I used almost all of those sheets.  My only problem is that I was going to put 10 in a box (the Papertrey clear ones) but I don't think the cards *and* envelopes will both fit.  And these are pretty flat cards, since I didn't want the recipients to have to worry about extra postage.

So... for today I have Lulu from CC Designs hiding behind her packages.  I colored with my Copics {smile}, and used my Classic Rectangle Nestabilities for the scalloped mat {big smile!}.

Thanks for stopping by!!  I need to go finish making the Banana Cream Pie now!

Blessings,

Tricia

Mass Producing...

My mom asked me to make a number of cards for her for Christmas, so I'm working on copying Michelle Wooderson and doing some mass production.  I made 4 of the get well cards above with my PTI Quilter's Sampler set and some beautiful Crate Paper dp that I was given.  I've just finished a set of Baby cards, too, so now I just need to work on some Thinking of You and Thank You cards.  I'm loving my Copics more and more, but if I have any time I'm going to work on a card for the House Mouse Challenge this week, so I'll be pulling out my Prismas & OMS soon.

Have a fabulous day.  Stay warm!!

Perky Penguin

I threw together this perky little penguin from CC Designs for a quick card for my husband's lunch bucket the other day.  I'm loving my Copics!!!  They make it so quick and easy to color and they give such life to your project.  Too fun!!

Punchy Card Kit Card!

The challenge on Cute Card Thursday was to create a card using punches - which was perfect since my card kit has snowflake punches in it!!  Hmmm... maybe this won't count for the challenge, I guess I used my nesties, too.  I'll have to go read the instructions again.  Remember to let me know if you'd like a card kit.  I have two left! :) (The card kit post is two down if you need a reminder of what is included.  I did use an extra piece of cardstock that you won't find in your kit...)

Have a splendid evening!

Another Tilda

This is the first Tilda I colored with my Copics... I needed to get her off my desk, so I decided to do the Sweet n Sassy challenge to use Christmas DP.  I also got to use my new Sew Mini.  Fun!!  I have to clean my stamping desk now and get started on some cards for my Mom.  TTFN!!

New Toys

Well, Christmas came early at my house! I finally talked myself in to some new toys. A handful of Copics and a Cuttlebug! :) Unfortunately I forgot that I needed to buy a tan embossing mat for the Bug in order to use the Nesties that I got in my Secret Sister package. So I have to wait to use them. How sad. And it's snowing today and it would be a perfect time to play with it!

As I get going with the Copics I'll let you know what colors I use. This one was just practice. :)

Have a wonderful day!

Hang in There - House Mouse

The House Mouse Challenge for this week was to sparkle.  I don't know if you'll be able to click on this picture to make it bigger - but it definitely sparkles!!  The tree branches are covered with Stickles.  So pretty in real life! :)

I'm not sure who I'll send this to yet.  I'm sure someone needs a little boost and encouragement.  If it's you, consider this your card!! :)

"Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest unto your souls."  Matt 11:29

May you find peace in the Saviour during this Christmas season.

Here's another on Claire's blog.  I think I hit the jackpot today!

A note on my blog candy alerts...  I only enter candy on sites that I frequently visit.  If I see a blog candy link I often go visit the blog, just to check out the artwork.  I've found some wonderful blogs to add to my Google Reader that way!! :)

Gorgeous!

Isn't this so pretty??  It was the view from my house Sunday night during the first real snow of the season.  What a wonderful way to usher in December.  Ahhhh....  Lovely.

In other news, I've been tagged by Debbie Olson - yes *the* Debbie Olson.   She's a dear friend, and the only stamping superstar that I know in real life. (Random fact #1)  She actually was my customer when I was a Stampin' Up! demo! (Random fact #2)  How cool is that???? :)

So Debbie tagged me to tell 7 random facts about myself... then I'm supposed to pass it on.  Let's see, I've already done 2...

#3 - I clench my jaw when I quilt and usually end up with a migraine.  BTW... I quilted today - guess what that means...

#4 - I own a small Christian dayplanner business and love to help ladies get organized.

#5 - I play piano, flute, and violin, and I love to sing in church.

#6 - I have three Webkinz.

#7 - I am addicted to blog-hopping. :)

There you are!  Now I'm going to link to 7 blogs that I like - but I'm not going to tag them.  I just want to introduce you to them if you enjoy great artwork!!

Happy blog-hopping!  Hopefully I'll have a card to share with you tomorrow.

Blessings!

Just for You - High Hopes Style

The challenge this week on the High Hopes Challenge blog is to use metal on your card. I only have a few High Hopes images, so I pulled out this adorable elephant, colored him for Christmas with my Prismacolors and OMS and used some metal embellishments so I could play along. Isn't he sweet?? He reminds me of the little elephant Webkinz that I got for 1/2 price on Black Friday. The only other thing I got that day was ordered from Hancock Fabric and my daughter and I went in on it together. Can you guess what it was?? A Janome Sew Mini! :) I'm so excited! I can use it for my cards and my dd will use it for home ec. Can't wait til it shows up!

I hope I'll be able to do a LOT of crafting this week. One of my projects is to complete a Christmas quilt that I've had all the fabric for since last year... another is to complete a cross-stitched Christmas stocking that I'm making for a friend. We'll see if I get any stamping done or not! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, the table is set, the turkey is about done, the potatoes are ready to boil... just waiting for my Mom and Dad to get here and I can make the Snickers Salad and we can eat! :)  Since I had a few minutes I used my PTI Quilt Sampler set and a couple of alphabet sets to make some placecards.  Too fun!!

I hope you have a lovely day being thankful.  Don't eat too much!! :)

Magnolia Birthday Present

This card started as a Christmas Card and ended as a birthday card... but that's ok since I have a sister whose birthday is the day after Christmas.  :)  I pulled out some Bo-Bunny Press DP from last year and colored a Magnolia Designs present to match.  There were actually three presents on the piece of cardstock (I'd gotten the images from a friend!) hence the wonky way of cutting! :)  I used my Studio G Birthday Wishes stamp for the sentiment.  I *love* that writing!  And I added a prima, a ribbon, some paper piercing and some stickles just for fun.  Wish I could show you the real thing.  It looks so pretty in real life!

Hope you and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving remembering how God has blessed you over the past year.  Let's give Him the glory!!

Blessings!

Needed: One CuttleBug

My, oh my!!  Look what my Secret Magnolia Angel sent to me!!!  Brads and fibers and scissors and paper and flowers and NESTIES!!!!!  I don't have any, and hadn't bought a CuttleBug or related tool since I knew I'd want some of the Nesties and I didn't have $$ for both.  But now I have nesties, so I can get a Bug with a clear conscience!! :)  Anyone have one you're getting rid of, or know where I can get a good deal?  I have a Michaels coupon for this weekend.  I wonder if they have them in stock????

Yippee!!!  Thank you, secret Angel!!

Thank Ewe

I pulled out a Gruffies image to color today.  I was aiming for the House Mouse Challenge, but I couldn't find any polka dots.  Go figure.  I colored the image with prismacolors and broke into my pack of Basic Grey Wassail dp for the mat and background.  The rick-rack was some that was in a box of my Grandma's.  I sparkled it up with stickles and cut the sentiment with a little zig-zag scissors to match.  The full card is below...

Watch out for the Needle!

I noticed a quilting challenge over on the PTI forum, and, as a quilter, I decided that I couldn't pass it up.  We had to use a table runner as our "inspiration".  I loved the table runner!!  I think I might make one... in my free time.  LOL!!  I tried to get the table runner feel, but used very different colors.  Oh - and can you spot the needle??

Distressed Baby

Gina K's So Sweet set came out the other week to make a card for the monthly sketch challenge.  I made the card, uploaded it, then decided that I didn't like it and redid it!! :)  Silly me!  The storks are stamped in Palette Burnt Umber on Basic Grey DP.  I sponged around the storks on the bottom panel and colored in the storks on the top panel with prismacolors and OMS.

I don't know how much time I'll have to craft this weekend.  We have company coming and I've spent the day decorating for Christmas, which we'll celebrate with our friends tomorrow night - then switch gears when they leave on Sunday and get ready for Thanksgiving.  I love this time of year!! :)

Can you believe this??

Debbie at Passion for Crafts is giving away Copics (and *more*!) as blog candy. How generous! Wouldn't *that* be a nice Christmas present??? Maybe I'll have my daughter type the comment on her blog. That girl wins everything!!

Look! Edith just gave me an award! Thank you!! :)

I never know who to pass them on to...  I have about 75 blogs in my Google Reader and enjoy browsing them all. :)

Thanks again!! :)

Quilted Wishes

Here's a card I made with my new PaperTrey set - Quilter's Sampler. I love the Sweet Blush color, it's so soft and inviting. I colored the little quilt blocks with SU markers and all the faux stitching is with marker, too. I added a half pearl that I got in a goody box earlier this year and sponged the whole card with Linen Distress Ink. The sentiment is TAC.

Magnolia Mingle

I haven't participated in any of the challenges on Splitcoast Stampers for a long time, so I decided to use this week's sketch for my Magnolia Mingle card for this month. I think it was supposed to look fall-ish, since it needed red, green, brown and yellow, but I just got this adorable Tilda with braid and my card decided that it wanted to look Christmas-y! :)

Tilda is colored with Prismas and OMS and the other stamps are Studio G and Stampin Up.

Wishing You Joy!!

Tilda with Sticks

I love this sweet little Tilda image that one of my blogging buddies sent me.  I colored her with SU markers since I don't own Copics...yet. :)  And I used a piece of shimmery KI paper, my Threading Water scalloped punch and some Burgundy Brads from TAC as accents.   I got to order a new Tilda from the Holiday collection today.  She should be coming soon...
I'm so excited!! :)

I won Stacy's blog candy!! :)  I'm so, so thrilled 'cuz it's really pretty paper and stamps and a card, and, and, and... :)  So I used some of the paper and one of my $1 sets from Studio G and made a card for her.   If you see it here before you get it, Stacy, act surprised!! :)

High Hopes Sugar

Two posts in one day!  But, isn't he just precious???  I couldn't wait.  :)  I made this card for the High Hopes Challenge - sparkles... see the flowers and his horns??  And then for the A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge to make a card for a child.  I actually put it in the mail today to Michelle's nephew who just had surgery.  Hop on over to her blog and email her if you'd like to help make his day. :)

I colored the High Hopes giraffe with my SU markers, and the sentiment is from a clear Studio G set.  Thanks for stopping by!! :)

Blog Candy at Pretty Pressings

Such fun blog candy over at Claudia's.  Be sure that you take time to look through her gorgeous artwork!!

Wings of Eagles

I got this gorgeous eagle image from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps as a RAK from my fellow blogging friend, Dina.  Isn't it stunning?  The background is Isaiah 40:31 - one of my favorite Bible verses.  The eagle is colored with my SU markers and a white gel pen and the paper is Basic Grey Sweet Pea (thanks, Debbie!).

Swirling Snowflakes

I pulled out my retired SU Snowflake set for this pot.  I love that set and use it every year.  I used a white gel pen and white chalk to give the "aura" around the snowflake - which I stamped in Navy on Blue Bayou cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment first in white, then in Navy to give it the shadowed effect.  It's supposed to snow here later this week.  I really don't mind.  The first snow is always so pretty.... it's the 101st snow that really gets old!! LOL!

Many Thanks

I finally had a chance to do a little stamping, and I think I'll have enough "blog fodder" to post each day this week!  Yippee!!  I miss talking to you all. :)

If you've read the blog long, you know that mass producing is *not* my thing, but I really, really wanted to include something handstamped in my GraceWorks orders, (see our website or our blog!) so I placed an order with PaperTrey for their sweet Quilter's Sampler set and some pretty paper and ribbon.  I colored the little quilt blocks with my SU markers, punched them out with the 3/4" square punch and matted them on PTI's Sweet Blush that I had punched with the yellow Scalloped square punch.  I mounted them on Kraft cardstock, stamped the "Thank You" from an older TAC set that I had and tied the card with a ribbon.  Inside there is a raspberry tea bag attached with glue dots.  Unfortunately I ran out of ribbon before I had them all done, so I made some Tea Tags as well.  If you're in the market for a daily planner for next year, be sure to check us out!  I'll be including a thank you with each order! :)

Blessings!

November Birthday

I have lots and lots of November birthdays to get ready for, so I decided to make this adorable Tilda with Broom image into a birthday card using one of the sentiments from PaperTrey's Mixed Messages set.  This card did NOT want to come together.  That's what happens when I don't stamp everyday.  :)   I do like the end result, though!

Have a splendid Monday, serving the Lord!

Blessings!

Lucky's Sledding

In honor of the snow flurries we're supposed to have in the next day or two I made a card featuring Lucky sledding for the Friday Sketcher challenge.  I doubt you can see it in the picture, but Lucky is covered with embossed glittery snowflakes and the punched out snowflakes are glittered as well.

Happy Winter! :)

Two Posts in One Day!

Figured I'd better post while I could, since I'm going to be pretty busy tomorrow. :)  Here's my "Halloween" card for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge.  Probably more of a fall card, but I think it will pass! :)  I colored with my three copics, my SU markers and my prismacolors.  The dp is retired SU and the sentiment is Studio G.  The sketch is actually the same as the last card, just switched up a bit.   OK - time to clean up now!  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes

This little Penny Black puppy carries lots of birthday wishes.  He's colored with prismacolors and OMS and my Stampin Up markers, and I used my new white Signo gel pen for the highlights on his nose and ears.  The sketch is compliments of the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards blog.

It felt so good to create something tonight, and I still have an hour to play in my stamping room!! :)  Yippee!!

New Challenge

Well, I did it. I followed one of the layer upon layer sketches that are favored by European stampers and actually like it!! The little monkeys and blanket are from Scrapmagasinet, and the sketch is this week's challenge on the Scrapmagasinet DT blog. Aren't they fun?? I love the look of all the designer paper together! :) The monkeys are colored with my SU markers and popped up on their little blanket, and the saying is from The Angel Company. Thanks for stopping by!

Fall-ish Tilda

Tilda makes an appearance tonight all dressed in her autumn colors.  I used some of my favorite colors... mustard, burgundy, rust... aren't they just *rich*??? :)  I colored Tilda with my SU markers.  Wish I had a few Copics for her face.  Maybe someday!  The background is CC Designs Polka Dots Background stamp.  I used my Threading Water punch on the rust layer, then pierced below it and added a little Stampin Up flourish.  The word is from PaperTrey Ink's Mixed Messages - a set I have to get since this was just an image someone stamped for me, and I love how it fits in the flower!!

Hope you're having a wonderful fall.  We had caramel apples tonight, so it is "officially" fall here!! :)  Thanks for stopping by!!

Christmas Cards

I was working on a sketch for the Christmas and Birthday card blog and my cards kept taking on lives of their own.  I hate it when that happens!! :)  Well, I at least have two more Christmas cards for my stash!! :)

Have a wonderful weekend!!
